How I got into golf: One day, my mum took me down the driving range for fun and I really caught the golf “bug”. I loved it so much that I remember spending nearly everyday there that summer!

People who inspired you: Rory McIlory’s career was just starting and I watched him play in the US Masters where he should have won but unfortunately his mental side got the better of him.  When he came back in the next major and won it, I was really inspired and I knew that  from then on I’d never give up, even if I was losing!  I went on to win a national competition and played with Lee Westwood which was amazing.

My Golf Clubs:
I first joined Nevill GC in Tunbridge Wells when I was 10 and got a handicap of 36. I’ve also been a member of Nizels since I started golfing along with my family. Two years ago I left Nevill GC and joined Chartham Park as it was closer to my school which meant I could practice more easily!

My handicap: 
I play off 2.9.

What I enjoy most about golf:
One of my favourite things about golf is being part of a team. Golf is mainly seen as an individual sport and you only play for yourself but when you become part of a team, it’s even better!  I love playing with the Junior County Team – all the girls support and encourage each other and I’ve amazing memories that will never be taken away from me. I also like travelling to compete in events, not to mention all the stunning golf courses and views I have seen!

Best part of my game:
I’d like to say that the best part of my game is my long game, I generally hit most fairways during a round which helps me a lot!

Next steps:
My next goal is to go to America with a golf scholarship in 2020. I’m really excited about what I can do in America and how I can develop my golf even further! I’d also like Sussex to win County Match Week in 2019 at Haywards Heath – perhaps 6th time lucky (for me) we might!

“Being part of the Sussex Girls team has meant that I’ve made life long friendships and memories, which I’ll always cherish.  The training sessions are delivered to a high standard by England Golf coaches and have been really fun with activities like giant Jenga golf, and hand/eye co-ordination battles.  I’ve loved being selected for Junior County Match Week.  It’s an incredible experience with 3 days of golf played on amazing courses and the excitement we have as a team when we win any match.  Our girls are committed to spending quality time together on and off the golf course, and it has been commented on by other counties how close we are as a team.  I love the challenges I get by playing for the Sussex team.”
